OMG OH MY GOD! is Akshay's third hit of the year!

OMG OH MY GOD!

Though Akshay Kumar's Paresh Rawal starrer, OMG OH MY GOD!, started on a dull note, as we had indicated in our Saturday box-office update, the positive word of mouth worked wonders for the film.

While the first day was quite ordinary with the film netting 4.25 crore from India, the following days saw an upswing in the collections, and the weekend ended with OMG! netting 17.50 crore from India. But the real surprise came after that as the film witnessed amazing collections during the normally weak weekdays. Monday was strong and Tuesday magical. The film is likely to end up netting a good 34-35 crore during the opening week itself.

OMG! is also doing well in the overseas grossing £145,500 from UK, $ 340,000 from US and Aus$80,205 from Australia during the opening weekend (28-30 September). And this despite being banned in the UAE!

Keeping the above in mind, the reasonably budgeted and sold OMG! is Akshay Kumar’s (as a producer and extended appearance artist) third hit of the year after the super duper hit HOUSEFULL 2 and the all-time blockbuster ROWDY RATHORE..

On a parting note, the unexpected (though not for us!) success of OMG! has to be attributed to the arrival of the girl child in Akshay’s family, as the newborn has turned out to be a ‘Sakshaat Laxmi’ for them.
