Andy Serkis to win Oscar for RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES!

Buzz is that actor Andy Serkis (of KING KONG, LOTR fame) is tipped to get an acting nomination for his performance as Caesar the ape in Fox Star Studios’ upcoming film RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES releasing on August 5th!
The actor has apparently got rave reviews in Hollywood after special footage of the film was shown to select audiences there.
After playing much acclaimed performance capture creatures such as KING KONG and Gollum for THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, the actor will be seen as Caesar, the protagonist of the film.
The Oscar honor had escaped him ten years ago when he played the creature Gollum in the LORD OF THE RINGS. The role, however, brought into the limelight the contribution and hard work of actors such as Serkis to characters who are created through performance capture.
RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is a high octane action-packed thriller, in which dangers of science leads to intelligence in apes and a challenge to humans as the dominant species on the planet. It stars the dashing Oscar nominated actor of 127 HOURS fame James Franco and India's very own SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE girl, Freida Pinto.
In the film, Serkis plays Caesar, a chimpanzee whose mother was injected with a new drug designed to combat the effects of Alzheimer's disease. As a side effect of the procedure, Caesar is born with an enhanced level of intelligence and is raised, in secret, by scientist Will Rodman (James Franco).
Oscar winning New Zealand-based digital effects house Weta Digital, which have created masterpieces such as AVATAR, THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, and KING KONG have expanded upon its Academy Award-winning work to render, for the first time ever in the film series, photo-realistic apes rather than costumed actors. This technology allows audiences to emotionally engage with a lead character that does not actually exist.
