Fox Star Studios set to lead 2010 with mega releases

After emerging as the No. 1 Hollywood studio of 2009 in India with blockbusters like AVATAR, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, X MEN ORGINS: WOLVERINE AND ICE AGE 3, Fox Star Studios is well on its way to ruling the roost this year too.
The studio is already leading 2010 with the Bollywood blockbuster MY NAME IS KHAN and 3 back to back Hollywood hits, including DATE NIGHT (Biggest romcom of 2010 so far), Bradley Cooper and Liam Neeson's THE A-TEAM (Rs. 11 crores) and the Tom Cruise- Cameron Diaz starrer KNIGHT & DAY (Rs. 16 crores). Infact, with the tremendous successes of THE A-TEAM and KNIGHT AND DAY in English and Hindi, Fox Star Studios will soon be releasing the two films in Tamil and Telugu as well.
And after a fantastic first half to the year, Fox Star Studios India is all geared up to enthrall audiences and rock the box office with some engaging and entertaining movies up for release.

Come 6th August, audiences will witness director Nimrod Antal's extravagant offering - PREDATORS. It may have been 13 years since PREDATOR first excited audiences around the world with its otherworldly might and cunning on Earth, but this time, payback comes in the form of seven of the world's most dangerous killers in a no-holds barred match staged on an alien planet. The movie stars Oscar winner Adrien Brody (KING KONG fame) along with Laurence Fishburne, Topher Grace Alice Braga and Walton Goggins. The film is also being dubbed in multiple languages and released in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu.
James Cameron's AVATAR - the biggest film in the history of cinema will be re-released in theatres worldwide on August 27th exclusively in Digital 3D and IMAX 3D. The film is the biggest Hollywood film of all time in India, grossing Rs. 130 Crores, and is all set to challenge even GHAJINI, for the second highest position including Bollywood films in India, with its re-release. This version of Cameron's history-making and groundbreaking epic will feature eight minutes of additional never before seen footage including new creatures and action scenes, enabling millions of fans to once again experience the magic of the film in 3D.
Releasing next on 24th of September is WALL STREET: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS, an American drama film directed by Oliver Stone. The film is a sequel to the 1987 Academy Award-winning film WALL STREET. Set in New York City, the film takes place 23 years after the original, revolving around the 2008 financial crisis. Michael Douglas reprises his role as Gordon Gekko in the film that also stars Shia LaBeouf, Josh Brolin, Carey Mulligan, and Frank Langella in supporting roles.
Up next would be Tony Scott's UNSTOPPABLE - an action film which will hit theatres on 12th November. The film stars Denzel Washington and Chris Pine. The movie trails a rail company's frantic efforts to prevent an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train carrying combustible liquids and poisonous gas from wiping out a city. A veteran engineer (Washington) and a young conductor (Pine) chase the train in a separate locomotive in order to bring it under control before it's too late.
December marks the return of one of the biggest franchises of recent times - THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER. The third part of this blockbuster series will be up for release on the 10th of December, in 3D. The release would be one of the biggest Hollywood releases ever in India, with around 1000 prints across multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil & Telugu.
Directed by veteran filmmaker Michael Apted, the film sees Edmund, Lucy, and their cousin Eustace Scrubb swallowed into a painting onto a Narnian ship headed for the edge of the Narnian world. The journey to Aslan's Country at the edge of the world is undertaken to save Narnia from an unfathomable fate. The film stars Georgie Henley as Lucy and Skandar Keynes as Edmund. Ben Barnes reprises the role of Caspian while Cousin Eustace is essayed by Will Poulter.
Finally, ending the year would be GULLIVER'S TRAVELS, a film based on the 18th century novel of the same name by Jonathan Swift. This 3D live-action family adventure film directed by Rob Letterman will be releasing on 31st December. The film will star Jack Black as the title character Lemuel Gulliver with Catherine Tate as Queen of Lilliput.
