Choreographer Longi of ‘Jai Ho’ (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE) fame has just finished shooting the promotional Video for Hollywood film WILL TO LIVE. Instead of roping in known Bollywood celebrity, Longi has opted for models and few of his dancers from the IPL performers. Since the film WILL TO LIVE is about the emotional journey of a father, wherein he goes through layers of sentiments from gloom of hopelessness to hope to joy, Longi had used the similar variation in his dance forms and set backdrops.
“He has moved from grey to orange in the colours of flowing curtains, dresses of the dancers and dance moves to showcase the moods of the film. We are really very happy with the outcome. To express various moods through different dance forms is not easy and we needed to take accomplished dancers to achieve that. And this is why Longi chose to bring in his troupe rather than the celebrities,” comments executive producer Amrit Das. Against all odds, an American father, played by Geoffrey Broderick, takes an adventurous journey from California into the jungles of Himalyas in the quest of a rare herb that may cure his son. All the while he is battling the depths of the jungles, greed, power and corruption and risking his own life. Shot extensively in Hollywood and India under the banner of Netguru Films, film WILL TO LIVE is directed by Charles Sleichter. Its star cast includes Geoffrey Broderick, Anusha Singh, Erik Altemus, Arjun and Subhasis. Its executive producer is Amrit Das, Screenplay is by Alec Doyle & Sudeshna Roy, cinematography is by Mike Bartkowaski & Sounmendu Roy and it is co-directed by Paul Emami & Biplab Chaterjee. WILL TO LIVE is the new genre film of cross cultural appeal. An Indo-American production, it has been shot exclusively in California, USA and India. A score of Hollywood and Indian filmmakers were involved in this feature film that has also pioneered new technology of Digital film making in India.
