TUM MILO TOH SAHI
They last came together in 1994 for KRANTIVEER. Sparks flew between the two volatile characters, Megha Dixit a firebrand journalist and Pratap Narayan Tilak an alcoholic. Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia come together, again… and yes, sparks fly. Two fiery characters again. They meet in a department store and end up in a court of law. One, Subramaniam (Nana Patekar) working in a law firm, the other Delshad Nanji (Dimple Kapadia) running a successful cafe.

Subramaniam is old, disgruntled and has a grouse with everyone, until Delshad comes along. TUM MILO TO SAHI is the meeting of minds, hearts and souls. Three stories, woven into one. In the end, it is the meeting of the souls that stands out. The mind games played between Suniel Shetty and Vidya Malvade, too meets with a mushy end, while the romance between Rehan Khan and Anjana Sukhani is a dampener.

Director Kabir Sadanand churns out a likeable plot that is sure to tug at the hearts of those from 18 to 80. He shows maturity in the handling of the two central characters, Nana and Dimple, around whom the film revolves. There is poise, dignity and charm in the way he establishes their respective characters and then goes about crossing their paths. Ditto with the Suniel Shetty-Vidya Malavade track.

Delshad’s café, which she has been running for 30 years, has suddenly come in the eye of a multinational company who want to expand their chain of coffee shops. Amit Nagpal (Suniel Shetty), who met his wife Anita (Vidya Malvade) at the café, is now the CEO of Blue Bells, the coffee shop chain. Since he knows Delshad, he assures his bosses he will buy her out. However, Delshad wants nothing to do with selling and so begins the muck game and legal threats. Delshad, it appears is not the legal heir. So who is?

Subramaniam is unceremoniously dumped at retirement by his boss. It is in this state of mind that he crosses paths with Delshad in a department store where all hell breaks loose. But it is Delshad who sees the love bundled inside Subbu’s heart and tries to loosen the strings. When the chips are down for Delshad, it is Subbu who fights her case for her.

Both Nana and Dimple stand out in their performances. He, as the eccentric, retired clerk who is a loner, and she as the lovable bawi. Perfect diction delivered with panache. Dimple brings Delshad alive on screen.
