Mumbai, Tuesday, 26 February 2013: NFDC (National Film Development Corporation) announces today the extension of deadline of its seventh edition of Screenwriters’ Lab 2013 to March 10, 2013, earlier being March 01st, 2013.
The Screenwriters’ Lab is a two-stage script development lab that gives an opportunity to six independent screenwriters every year to develop their skills under the guidance of a variety of industry experts from across the globe. The lab offers intensive coaching to the precise needs of each writer and project select for development. The selected screenwriters bring to the lab a script in development to be part of an in-depth group and one-to-one interactive discourse. International industry knowledge from session one of the lab within Toronto International Film Festival and sessions with renowned and award winning industry mentors will prepare writers to present their projects during NFDC’s Film Bazaar in Goa.
The first stage of the lab, this year, will commence at the Toronto International Film Festival from 05 - 15 September, 2013, and conclude in Goa just prior and during NFDC’s annual film market, Film Bazaar 21- 24 November, 2013. Last year the first stage of the lab was held at the Venice International Film Festival.
The mentors for the lab this year are; Marten Rabarts - Script Lab Head (Head- Training and Development- NFDC) ; Bianca Tal – Industry Advisor and Programmer (International Film Festival of Rotterdam) ; Olivia Stewart- Script Advisor (Producer and Writer) ; Urmi Juvekar - Manager and Script Advisor (Screenwriter).
