Channel V's 'Dil Dostii Dance' (D3) completes 300 episodes

Saturday, October 06, 2012 7:58:38 PM (IST) | Bollywood Trade Editorial

‘Dil Dostii Dance’ on Channel V, one of the most popular youth shows on television, is all set to complete its 300th episode. The unique dance-based show was the first daily fiction on Channel V when it was launched on April 11, 2011 on what was then a music channel. But since then it became the heartbeat for the young across the country and helped Channel V's march to being a youth entertainment channel.

Now, as ‘Dil Dostii Dance’ aka D3 completes its triple century on October 4, it's celebration time at Channel V, not just for the landmark but for all the show has achieved for itself and Channel V at large. Like in week 29 of 2012, D3 rated as much as all of MTV! Also, according to the latest research edition of Characters India Love by Ormax Media, Reyansh is the 7th Most Popular Character across Indian television.

Says Channel V EVP & GM Prem Kamath: 'D3 is our first daily show we started almost 18 months ago and is very special in that sense. We are extremely proud that it has crossed so many landmarks in terms of longevity but the popularity of the characters and the fan following is the greatest appreciation for us as it shows we've made a connection with the audience and gives us confidence to continue experimenting with formats and concepts.'

And D3 isn't done as it goes from one high point to another. Coming up is a dance camp which will create many more entertaining moments on the show. The only dampener is that actor Sneha Kapoor, who plays Sharon, is moving on due to personal reasons. The team is sad and wishes her all the best for her future endeavours.

Says actor Sneha Kapoor 'I can't imagine a life without D3 and my moving on is entirely due to personal reasons, I wish ‘Dil Dostii Dance’ becomes even bigger and better and continues to rock the youth like it has been over the last 300 episodes.'
