Aamir: 'Mehngai Dayain' not timed with Bharat Bandh!

The song, "Mehngai Dayain" from Aamir Khan Productions' PEEPLI [LIVE] had recently been in the news following a controversy over non/less payment to the folk singers and the lyricist, but thankfully just a couple of days back Aamir amicably settled the dispute and all izz well!
When we had first heard the song sometime back on a leading news channel, we were sure that it had the capability of becoming a national anthem for a country suffering from high inflation and spiraling prices. And it appears that we were quite right as the topical song has indeed hit the right notes.
The promos doing the rounds of various channels and web portals have caught the fancy of one and all and such is the impact that we have news that the opposition parties have approached Aamir to give them rights of the song so that they can use in their fight against inflation and the ruling party!
When we asked Aamir Khan whether the promos of "Mehngai Dayain" were timed to coincide with Bharat Bandh (July 5th) the unflappable actor retorted in a light vein that "We did not hold the Bharat Bandh, it was the opposition parties!" He added, " "Mehngai Dayain" was not timed with Bharat Bandh and our song has no political message and it has nothing to do with the opposition parties or the BJP. It was just a co-incidence that the song got very popular in and around the Bandh time"
Well, for those waiting to grab a copy of the cd of PEEPLI[LIVE], the audio was launched by Aamir Khan in Mumbai earlier this week and going by the publicity that the song has already got we are sure that this album too will be a winner like all others from the Aamir Khan stable.
