Did DESI BOYZ deserve an 'adults only' certificate?

DESI BOYZ
Entire team of DESI BOYZ has been left stunned. The film, which they were proudly marketing as a family entertainer all along, has been granted an 'A' certificate by the censor board, something that they just didn't see coming. Though they felt that the film was a light hearted entertainer and had even termed it as a dramedy, the board apparently felt that the theme of 'male escorts' was perhaps a little too risqué for universal audience.

"This decision is bizarre to say the least. One wonders what the real argument of censor board here was but this is simply not done," says a senior crew member who didn't wish to be named, "All this is real disappointing."

The makers further argue that even a song like <i>'Tu Mera Hero'</i> (where Akshay and John strip while dancing for the ladies) was handled with kid gloves as it was made to look cute-n-naughty instead of sensual.

"So much precaution was taken while making the film but still there was no room left for any argument whatsoever when DESI BOYZ was deemed unfit for audience below 18 year of age," the crew member continues.

This pretty much reminds one of some of the other confrontations that took place early this year when Ajay Devgn-Emraan Hashmi starrer DIL TOH BACCHA HAI JI was handed an 'A' certificate due to theme of adultery as well as reference to porn and other hints around sex. On the other hand PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA maker Luv Ranjan was quite vocal on his angst against censor board which had asked for number of cuts in the film since it spoke about live-in relationship.

Nevertheless, whatever may have happened for films that were released early this year, as of now it is DESI BOYZ team which is facing the heat and it would be up to the audience to judge whether verdict passed by censor board was indeed justified or not.
