Good opening for DELHI BELLY, dull start for BBUDDAH!

DELHI BELLY and BBUDDAH...HOGA TERRA BAAP

It was always expected that due to the popularity of D.K. Bose and Aamir's (as always) innovative publicity that DELHI BELLY was going to score over BBUDDAH…HOGA TERRA BAAP. And that is exactly what has happened.
As per the initial reports, DELHI BELLY has opened to a 50- 70 percent start at city multiplexes and even 75-85 percent at high end metro multiplexes. The single screens though are lower at 35-45 percent. It is expected that the 32 crores (inclusive of print and publicity) DELHI BELLY will have a good weekend, netting in the region of 25 crores plus or so.
The other release of the same week, Puri Jagannath's Amitabh Bachchan starrer, BBUDDAH…HOGA TERRA BAAP, started on a sedate note of 20-30 percent at the multiplexes. The single screens were higher with 50-60 percent and in some cases even 70 percent (in the Hindi belt). The collections did show an upward tick during the latter shows. Depending upon how the film fares from here on, the weekend can vary from 10-13 crores for the 20-21 crores (inclusive of print and publicity) BBUDDAH…HOGA TERRA BAAP.
Before we sign off here's something about the second June success, Indra Kumar's DOUBLE DHAMAAL. The film did show a pronounced fall during the weekdays, after a good 25.62 crores weekend but at the end of the day managed quite a good 37 crores week, about 8 crores more than the entire run of DHAMAAL!
