Hollywood gives Bollywood a tough fight this week

It is being said and assumed that, Imraan Khan starrer BREAK KE BAAD is lucky because no other big movie is releasing to give it enough competition. But that’s not entirely true! Actor Imran Khan and other Hindi films releasing this week will be faced with tough competition by Charlton Heston, Al Pacino, George Peppard, Michael Caine and Humphrey Bogart. Wondering how, already? Well, Let us clear the mystery, PVR Cinemas is going to start a film festival of rare classic Hollywood films in association with Ray-Ban from November 26th, 2010 to 2nd December and Hollywood biggies like BEN-HUR, GODFATHER 1, TEN COMMANDMENTS, BLUE BROTHERS, BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY, ITALIAN JOB and CASABLANCA are a part of the film festival.
The beauty of this Ray-Ban Classic Movie Festival is that the Gen next can get to see these classics on the 70 mm screen, something that they might have never imagined can happen. So while Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone and other Hindi Films might want to have a comfy long week, well, there are Hollywood biggies giving them tough competition.
Not just this there are some new Hollywood flicks also releasing on 26th November, and considering the fact that Hollywood has a vast market here in India and as a result of which, it is often seen that the English Flicks do better than our Bollywood films and which might be a case this time along too.
The Cinemas and Cities that this grand festival will take place at include- PVR Select City at Delhi, PVR Ambience at Gurgaon, PVR Juhu at Mumbai, PVR Ampa Mall at Chennai, PVR Forum Mall at Bangalore, PVR Central Mall at Hyderabad, and Inox Cinema at Kolkata. All the films will be played in all the cities as mentioned. The festival will start off with BEN-HUR with a launch party of the festival at Mumbai’s – PVR Juhu on 26th of November 2010.
The Ray Ban Classic movie festival will primarily be an invitee Film Festival for guests selected through contests & promotions along with other select invitees. The invites will be distributed through contest done at the already mentioned specific PVR Cinemas in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad and Inox Cinema in Kolkata. Also, all the patrons visiting these cinemas will get a contest form on the purchase of tickets and winners will win themselves an invite to the film festival. Certain number of tickets will also be sold at the Cinema counters also.
The proceeds of the ticket sales will go to the OneSight Foundation. OneSight is a family of charitable programs dedicated to improving vision through outreach, research and education. Since 1988, OneSight has helped millions see their world more clearly and donated millions of dollars to support optical research and education. OneSight held its first Global Clinic in India just two years ago. Since that time, passionate Luxottica employees and local volunteers have developed a comprehensive plan of OneSight activity including Regional Clinics and fundraising. Recently in India a nonprofit public charitable trust by the name OneSight India Foundation has been formed.
