Salman 'Chulbul' Khan rocked the 12th IIFA awards (International Indian Film Academy Awards) as DABANGG grabbed nine International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) honours here in Toronto at Canada. However, the Best actor award was scalped by Shahrukh Khan for MY NAME IS KHAN. DABANGG won number of categories that included Best Action (S. Vijayan), Best Choreography award (Farah Khan), Best Sound re-recording (Leslie Fernandes), Best performance in Negative Role (Sonu Sood), Best Debut (Sonakshi Sinha) and Best Screenplay (Abhinav Kashyap and Dileep Shukla), Best Playback Singer Male (Rahat Fateh Ali Khan) and Best Music Direction (Sajid Wajid and Lalit Pandit).
Rajinikanth's science fiction tale ROBOT won a number of trophies at the IIFA awards that included Best Make-up (Banu), Best Art Direction (Sabu Cyril) and Best Special Effects (Indian Artists).
While BAND BAAJA BAARAAT famed Anushka Sharma clinched the Best Actress award, Ranveer Singh won the Best Debut Male awards for the film BAND BAAJA BAARAAT.
The Best Female playback singer award went to Mamta Sharma for her popular number 'Munni Badnam' from the film DABANGG that had literally turned into a B-town national song last year.
Arjun Rampal (Best Supporting actor for RAAJNEETI) and Prachi Desai (Best supporting actress for ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI) made their mark in the glitzy 12th IIFA awards.
While veterans Sharmila Tagore and Dharmendra were presented with outstanding achievement awards.

Best Performance in a Comic Role - Riteish Deshmukh for HOUSEFULL
Hottest Pair- Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma
Green Globe Award- Priyanka Chopra
Best Story - Shibani Bhattija for MY NAME IS KHAN
Best Dialogue- Vishal Bhardwaj for ISHQIYA
Best Costume- Niharika Khan for BAND BAAJA BAARAAT
Best Choreography- Farah Khan for DABANGG
Best Background score- Shankar Ehsaan Loy for MY NAME IS KHAN
Best Lyrics- Niranjan Iyengar for MY NAME IS KHAN
Best Sound Recording- Pritam Das for LOVE SEX AUR DHOKHA
Best Editing- Namrata Rao for BAND BAAJA BAARAAT
Best Cinematography- Sudeep Chatterjee for GUZAARISH
