It's every actor's dream to be honoured with the prestigious National Award. And so Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is no exception. After sweeping awards at various award functions for her performance in the immensely successful film THE DIRTY PICTURE, Vidya has been honoured as the Best Actress of the year for her sterling performance in the film by the coveted National Award.
"Overjoyed, Overwhelmed, Over the Moon! People walked out of theatres after watching THE DIRTY PICTURE saying that the film respected Silk and that's why we audiences didn't judge her...Therefore to receive the most respected of all awards, the National Award, for my portrayal of Silk, makes this that much more special for me - not just as an actor but also as a woman. Truly Humbling," says an overjoyed Vidya.
Meanwhile her recently released film KAHAANI has also received rave reviews from the critics. Indeed Vidya is having a dream run!
