Karan Johar isn't worried about AGNEEPATH & EMAET

AGNEEPATH arrives tomorrow and while the world is waiting to catch Hrithik Roshan step into the shoes of the legendary Amitabh Bachchan as Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, there are some hectic times ahead for producer Karan Johar. Reason? His EK MAIN AUR EKK TU closely follows AGNEEPATH and is separated by only a fortnight.
"Yes, 2011 was a gap year for our production house since there was no release but 2012 would be packed year," says Karan, "I am not worried though since these two movies are demographically very different. Right from content, texture and tonality there is nothing common between EK MAIN AUR EKK TU. I am sure these won't eat other each other's business. While one is a slice of life love story, another is an angry revenge saga.
Talking more about his 'angry revenge saga', Karan is willing to make a confession though. He is the first to admit about not being sure in the beginning that whether it would be a good idea to even name the film as AGNEEPATH, leave aside terming it as a remake.
"It was quite a situation because even though it was a mutual decision taken with (director) Karan Malhotra to bring about changes in AGNEEPATH, the entire written material that finally came on the table was so different from the earlier version that it seemed like a totally new movie in the making, "says Karan, "He thinks differently and ultimately what remained from Mukul's AGNEEPATH was Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, Kaancha Cheena and (the village) Mandwa, that's about it. Everything else was changed."
Well Karan, here is hoping that the 'changed version' doesn't let down the hardcore fans and followers of the Amitabh Bachchan version who would definitely want the magic to be rekindled.
