NFDC MD Nina Lath Gupta features in Hollywood Reporter's 2012 Women Achievers List

The Hollywood Reporter (THR), the definitive interpretive voice of the entertainment industry, features Nina Lath Gupta, Managing Director, National Film Development Corporation Ltd (NFDC), as one of the 12 outstanding INTERNATIONAL women achievers in the field of entertainment. The special issue was launched at THR's 21st annual ‘Women in Entertainment’ breakfast event at Los Angeles, held on 5th December 2012.
THR's ‘Women in Entertainment’ special issue, which besides listing the 100 most powerful US-based women in entertainment, also turns the spotlight on 12 outstanding women achievers in the field of entertainment from across the globe, which includes Nina Lath Gupta. This coveted international platform celebrates the women who rule entertainment, it recognizes their achievements, and believes that they will inspire the next generation of leaders.
The international list of women in entertainment include: Shim Jae-myung, Co-founder- Myung Film (South Korea); Sophie Turner Laing, Managing Director of Entertainment & News- BSkyB (UK) ; Dee Forbes, Head- Discovery Networks International EMEA (UK); Nina Lath Gupta, MD, National Film Development Corporation (India); Guneet Monga, Producer- Sikhya Entertainment (India); Mika Morishita, Director- TIFFCOM (Japan); Satoko Uchiyama, Producer at TV Asahi (Japan); Ivy Ho, Director-Producer (Hong Kong); Andrea Barata, Producer (Brazil); Louise Vesth, Producer (Denmark); Heather Shaw, Executive Chair- Corus Entertainment (Canada); Noa Tishby, Actress/Producer (Israel).

Nina Lath Gupta joined NFDC in the capacity of the Managing Director of the company in 2006, after having served as the Additional Commissioner of Income Tax for 16 years and resigning from The Indian Revenue Service. She has been instrumental in spearheading various initiatives and also setting up new divisions to consistently meet the vision and mission of the company. Within five years of taking charge, Nina has contributed to the drastic makeover in the company, significantly in terms of the turnover from Rs 12 crores in 2006, to Rs 255 crores in 2011- 2012. Recent noteworthy developments at NFDC include the launch of the production and distribution brand- Cinemas of India, launch of NFDC Labs - the training and development division aimed at mentoring mid-level film professionals. Also, most importantly, over the years, Film Bazaar, South Asia’s Global Film Market and NFDC’s promotional arm has been gaining prominence as a crucial gateway to Indian Cinema, facilitating international collaborations, financing, distribution and sales, and festival placements for Indian filmmakers.
