For the first time in the history of the country, the Planning Commission organised a special screening of PEEPLI LIVE yesterday.
"Since the film talks about the perception of people on the development programmes and so on, we thought that this will be quite useful for the Planning Commission officers to see the film," said Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia after the screening of the film at Yojana Bhawan.
Talking about the special screening of the film, Ahluwalia said that these kind of initiatives should be useful for Plan panel experts to see the sort of impression people have about the development schemes. "May be, it will help them to think on what actually goes on and on how they can make things better," he added.
The initiative comes at a time, when the Commission has started formulating the draft Approach Paper of the 12th five year plan (20012-17).
Besides Ahluwalia, member Secretary Sudha Pillai, members Arun Maira, Sayeeda Hamid and other senior officials of the Commission were also present at the screening.
