Priyan's 10 year record to break with TEZZ?

For a change, India's most prolific filmmaker Priyadarshan would be suffering from a lull this year. If all doesn't quite go well, this would be the first time in last 10 years that Priyadarshan won't have a single release to his name. The latest development comes from the fact that arguably his most expensive film till date, TEZZ, is in all likelihood moving to next year, hence leaving a gap in his illustrious run so far.
"Priyan Sir is a workaholic and this can be evidenced from the fact that time and again he has enjoyed two or more films of his hitting the screens practically every year. In fact last year was a record of sorts with BUMM BUMM BOLE, KHATTA MEETHA and AAKROSH releasing in quick
succession. Even before that he had DE DANA DAN and BILLU coming in the same year. However 2011 will be an exception," says a source.
It wasn't originally planned this way since TEZZ was always scheduled to arrive this year. Rumoured to be inspired by Japanese film SHINKANSEN DAIBAKUHA (1975) [also known as BULLET TRAIN], the film was launched late last year and was supposed to be shot in quick time.
However the film had to go for some planning due to logistical hassles. Now with other films in fray as well and ROCKSTAR occupying 11th November slot, release date for TEZZ is going through some rethinking.
"No film will dare to come on 4th November since Shahrukh Khan's RA.ONE would be continuing its Diwali run then," comments a trade expert, "Vidya Balan's THE DIRTY PICTURE is already scheduled for 10th November. And then there is Akki-John combo in DESI BOYZ which is all set for 18th November. It would be a challenge for TEZZ to fit in anywhere."
As speculations gather further heat, one waits to hear an official word from the makers soon.
