Shazahn bonds with her director Bhandarkar

Shazahn is having fun shooting DIL TOH BACHCHA HAI JI and is going through a learning process. And why not, after all the man calling the shots is Madhur Bhandarkar who is known for ensuring award winning performances from his leading ladies. A certain Priyanka Chopra, Konkona Sen Sharma, Tabu, Bipasha Basu and Kangna Ranaut would vouch for that. With expectations of joining an elite list like this, does Shazahn feel like being in safe hands?
"Absolutely," Shazahn nods in agreement here, "Madhur has always portrayed his women so beautifully in the films. I was very young when I saw Tabu in CHANDNI BAR. I was totally sold on the film even then and went on to see it five times. I was like 'wow, this is one amazing film'. It was so cutting edge, so real. There was so much to learn from the film and the role with so many layers to it stays on to be a dream outing for me. Then of course there was Priyanka in FASHION and I was bowled all over again. It is again one of my favourite films. I love the way Madhur's characters see a rise, fall and then rise again."
Continuing to talk fondly about her director, Shazahn gushes, "He is a very astute director and knows exactly what he wants. Before beginning work on DIL TOH BACHCHA HAI JI, I knew that he is very well known and has a knack of getting an amazing performance out of you. Now that I have worked with him, I have experienced it first hand."
Seemingly, there is quite some camaraderie that Shazahn is enjoying with her director.
"Whenever Madhur is on the sets, he can be seen cracking jokes and making the atmosphere very comfortable for his actors. He is not at all intimidating despite the plethora of work that he has done in the past. He doesn't want you to be tense. He wants you to laugh and the middle of all of this, he does something to his actors that they give much more than their best. I guess this is reason why he is Madhur Bhandarkar," signs off Shazahn with obvious awe in her tone.
