Shazahn truly believes that a film like DIL TOH BACHCHA HAI JI has been God sent. Earlier in case of her debut film ROCKET SINGH..., factors like zero romantic angle, no songs and lack of promotion meant that Shazahn was totally ignored in the bigger scheme of things. To add insult to the injury, the fact remains that it was Gauhar Khan, who wasn't even romantically paired opposite Ranbir, had a much meatier part and was at least integral to the film's storyline. It was obvious that Shazahn was short changed and hence wanted to be doubly sure before signing her second film.
"This is where DIL TOH BACHCHA HAI JI turned out to be the best bet for her", says a source close to her, "Most aspiring actresses are willing to giving their right hand for a role in Bhandarkar's film and since this time around he is making a comedy, Shazahn was also rest assured that she would be enjoying a commercial setting for herself. Moreover, she is playing a lead opposite Ajay Devgn, someone who has the unique distinction of being a star actor and is currently in a roll. This was one offer that she wasn't going to refuse by any means. Also, it offers her an opportunity to be seen in a glamorous outing."
Even though she is looking at a new phase in her career, Shazahn claims that she neither regrets the past nor feels that she could have actually waited for a while before plunging into a film like ROCKET SINGH... which had precious little to offer her.
"Yes, I understand that there was not much to do there and I also feel that I can do much better than what I did then", she admits, "But then it was my first film so its fine. I have just started off and have a long way to do. I am just 21 and currently having a blast. So no, I don't think that ROCKET SINGH... was a mistake at all. If you continue to keep waiting for the entire package to be best then one day you will become old and then start regretting that you could have handled your career differently."
