SINGHAM and ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA
|
|
By Abid, Glamsham Editorial The winning combo of director Rohit Shetty and actor Ajay Devgn is back. Their latest release, SINGHAM, has set the single screens on fire with collections in the region of 60-70 and even 90 percent. The multiplexes though are much lower at around 40-50 and in some cases 60 percent. (Ahmedabad is much higher). The best opening comes from Mumbai-Maharashtra, Gujarat and single screens of UP. Given the good buzz and positive feedback the film is expected to pick up further during the weekend. The performance of Zoya Akhtar's ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA was quite the opposite of SINGHAM. The multiplexes posted huge numbers and remained rock steady during the weekdays also. The single screens were lower but improved during the weekend. The film is expected to have netted an impressive 45-46 crore during the opening week. From the older releases, the collections of Emraan Hashmi's MURDER 2 crashed during the second week but the 13 crore (all inclusive) film is a blockbuster given the estimated 45 crore in two weeks.
