Sonam is 'special' for Farhan and Rakeysh

Special appearances and cameos are almost turning out to be a trend. Katrina first did an item number for Salman Khan and has now turned a 'Chikni Chameli' for Hrithik Roshan. Just recently we saw Lara Dutta doing a dance number and then almost disappearing as Shahrukh Khan spread his menace as Don. While Bipasha too has decided to be just a guest instead of being in the 'race' for Abbas-Mustan, the latest entrant is Sonam Kapoor who is content cheering for Farhan Akhtar even as Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra says 'bhaag Milkha bhaag'.
"Yes, Sonam Kapoor has stepped into BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG for just a special appearance. She doesn't really have a quintessential leading lady part to play in the film and would be seen for a limited duration. Basically the film is centred on Farhan Akhtar since it is a biographical take on Milkha Singh. You can't suddenly show the protagonist getting all romantic and mushy on screen. Sonam is doing the film since she shares a great equation with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra since the DELHI 6 days but that's about it," says a well places source.
Though the film is yet to go on floors, as reported earlier Sonam has already confirmed that there are three other major films in the pipeline where she is one of the key protagonists in the film. While for her upcoming release PLAYERS she is more than happy to declare herself as the leading lady in the film (despite the presence of Bipasha Basu as the 'other heroine'), when it comes to BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG she is suitably restrained and refrains herself from going overtly gaga about her 'appearance'.
She doesn't fail to acknowledge the fact that it was Rakeysh who instilled a confidence in her that she could be a leading lady when the chips were down after DELHI 6.
"He was a wonderful mentor during DELHI 6 and I was looking forward to work with him. I know that BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG is Farhan's film but then I just want to see Rakeysh direct. Also, as a film I know it is going to be a great outing since the script is so brilliant. May be in future he may get me to play a part which has much larger presence but for this one, I am content with what has come my way," says Sonam on a parting note.
