Viacom 18 wins 'Best In House Legal Team' at the Legal Era Awards 2011-12

Viacom 18 Media Pvt. Ltd. (a 50:50 joint venture between Viacom Inc. and Network18), one of India's leading entertainment conglomerates have added another feather to their cap. The prestigious Legal Era Awards has awarded Viacom18 the ‘Best In-House Legal team of the year’, headed by its Group General Counsel, Sujeet Jain. The awards ceremony took place on 20th January 2012 at Hotel Intercontinental The Lalit, Mumbai and was attended by the who's who of Indian legal fraternity.
The Jury decided to award Viacom 18 team as ‘Best In House Legal Team’ based on numerous criteria among others included stupendous success in litigations impacting television broadcast industry, innovative approaches to resolve content issues, and impact of decisions made by legal team on business of Viacom18.
On the joyous occasion Sujeet Jain, Viacom 18 Group General Counsel, said, “Viacom 18 is one of the best places to work and to add to that laurel we have won another award, and this time for our legal team. This is a great day for us at Viacom 18 and especially for our legal team who has worked really hard to enable our businesses grow and they truly deserve it.”
Other awards that were also given, best law firm of the year, Amarchand Mangaldas Suresh A Shroff and Co, best M&A lawyer of the year, Zia Mody, General Counsel of the Year – Bharat Vasani, head legal, Tata Sons Pvt Ltd. Women Lawyer of the year was given to Pallavi Shroff, Senior Partner, Amarchand Mangaldas Suresh A Shroff and Co. Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Fali Nariman, Senior Advocate Supreme Court of India.
