Will Kareena do ONCE UPON A TIME... sequel now?

With ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI as a solid hit behind him and THE DIRTY PICTURE all set to surpass its success by leaps and bounds, Milan Luthria is now all set to begin work on ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI 2. While Akshay Kumar is already on board, announcement around his lady love is still awaited. So where does Kareena Kapoor come into this conversation? Well, she is the one to whom the makers sent feelers quite some time back and now the ball is in her court to announce her decision.
"The only actor on board so far is Akshay Kumar and while names like Shahid Kapoor and Imran Khan are being thrown around as a parallel lead, it is primarily Kapoor who is in serious consideration to give her nod of approval when it comes to the leading lady. Earlier neither Milan nor Ekta Kapoor was in a hurry to rush through things since they were busy with THE DIRTY PICTURE. However now that the film is a bumper success, it is time to move on to the next project. It would be interesting to see how developments shape up with Kareena," says an industry source.
"See, one should be looking at an overall product here," advises a PR expert, "While Akshay is a huge draw, Milan too has now firmly established himself as a director with good sensibilities. Moreover as a story, the sequel of ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI holds great significance. Add to this the marketing and promotional prowess that Ekta carries and you are already sitting on a product which is bound to be accepted by audience. It would be yet another feather in Kareena's cap if she bags this film."
On her part, Kareena is yet to confirm her presence in the film. She says, "Ekta has spoken about the film to my secretary and now I have to go through the script and see how it is. Going by what Milan did in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI and THE DIRTY PICTURE, I am sure he would come up with something spectacular again. He is a great director and I have been told that there is a completely different role for me. Now it has to be seen how things work out eventually."
